Last Man Standing rules
Last updated: 25 October 2026
The short version
Each gameweek, pick one Premier League team to win. If they win, you're through. If they don't, you're out. You can't use the same team twice. The last player standing wins.
How EliminX settles each gameweek
- Pick one team to win each gameweek.
- No repeats. Once you've used a team, it's gone for the rest of the competition.
- Win = you're through.
- Draw or loss = you're out.
- No pick by the deadline = you're out.
- Postponed match = you're through.
- Rollover: if everyone left would go out in the same gameweek, nobody is eliminated. Everyone still in carries on and the pot rolls over.
- The winner is the last player standing.
The final two
When two players are left, they can agree to split the pot or play on until one is left. On EliminX the organiser confirms a split from the admin area, and both players are shown as joint winners.
Deadlines
The pick deadline is the official Fantasy Premier League deadline for each gameweek, usually just before the first match kicks off. Picks stay hidden until the deadline passes, so nobody can copy.
Results and settling
Scores come from the official Premier League feed and update live. EliminX settles the gameweek automatically 15 minutes after the last match finishes, which leaves time for any late score corrections. The organiser can correct a score if the feed is ever wrong.
House rules you can agree
Plenty of groups tweak the classic rules. Agree any of these before you start:
- Draws count as through instead of out, for a gentler game.
- Buy-backs: let players knocked out early rejoin once, before a set gameweek.
- Pick a team to lose in the later rounds, to shake things up.
- Restart with a fresh round when a winner is crowned.
EliminX settles games using the standard rules above, so the organiser handles any house rules by hand.
Questions
Does a draw count as a loss in Last Man Standing?
Yes. On EliminX only a win takes you through. A draw or a loss puts you out.
Can I pick the same team twice?
No. Once you've used a team, you can't pick it again for the rest of the competition.
What happens if I forget to pick?
If you haven't picked by the deadline, you're out.
What happens if my match is postponed?
You go through to the next gameweek.
What if everyone gets knocked out in the same week?
It's a rollover. Nobody is eliminated, everyone still in carries on, and the pot rolls over to the next gameweek.
What happens when there are two players left?
The organiser can end the league with both as joint winners and split the pot, or the two can play on until one is left.
When is the pick deadline?
The official Fantasy Premier League deadline for each gameweek, usually shortly before the first match kicks off. Picks stay hidden until it passes.
